Sciacca has lived together with the sea for a long time; many merchants, arms and
pirates arrived in its beaches and even Garibaldi had planned a disembarkation
of his thousand men here. Going on foot through the western part of the town, it
is easy to reach Stazzone beach, immediately followed by Tonnara Foggia and San
Marco seasides. The whole zone is characterized by small and great inlets, at
times sandy at times rocky, considered heavens for swimmers and sub. From the
eastern part of the town, following the old roald for Ribera, we meet at first
the beach of Sovareto, Lumia, then Timpi Russi and Makauda. Whatever entry, all
the main roads get to the sea. The places above mentioned are equipped with
tourist sea-structures such as coffee bar, restaurants, bathing establishments
and amusements centres. The sea is fishy in all the places. |
